Our Story
More than eight years ago, Roy and Jeremy began working together in the in-house legal department at MDVIP, the nation's largest network of membership-based physicians. During their time there, they developed a strong professional partnership and lasting friendship built on mutual respect, shared values, and firsthand experience advising a growing business from the inside.
That relationship ultimately led to a shared vision: to establish SGC Legal Group, a law firm designed to provide businesses with practical, strategic, and responsive legal support. Drawing on more than 40 years of combined experience as in-house general counsel and BigLaw outside counsel, Jeremy and Roy bring a unique perspective to clients seeking fractional general counsel services by offering the judgment, accessibility, precision, and business-minded guidance that companies need to confidently navigate legal issues.
Jeremy R. Singer
Co-Founder & Partner
Jeremy is a seasoned legal executive and business-minded advisor who helps companies manage risk, support growth, and navigate complex legal, regulatory, operational, and strategic challenges. He brings clients the judgment of a senior in-house legal leader, the rigor of a BigLaw litigation background, formal business training, and the discipline of military service.
Jeremy most recently served as Head of Legal for a financial technology, software, and services company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, overseeing a legal and compliance department of more than 30 professionals, including five in-house attorneys and seven paralegals. He previously served as Senior Associate General Counsel at MDVIP, where he handled commercial contracting, government relations, M&A, litigation and dispute resolution, regulatory and healthcare compliance, new program development, and legal and operational implementation.
He also supported MDVIP in a private equity transaction involving Leonard Green & Partners, Goldman Sachs, and Charlesbank. Earlier in his career, Jeremy practiced as a litigation attorney at Greenberg Traurig, an AmLaw 20 law firm, where he handled complex disputes and honed his expertise in litigation strategy, advocacy, and risk assessment. Prior to GT, he clerked for the Honorable Dorian K. Damoorgian on Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeal.
Jeremy currently serves as a U.S. Navy JAG officer in the Reserves, with a focus on prosecuting administrative separation cases on behalf of the Government. During Officer School, he served as Company Commander, leading half of his 200+ fellow sailors during Naval training. Jeremy was a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami, a JD from NSU Shepard Broad College of Law, and an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. During law school, Jeremy was the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, the graduation/commencement speaker, member of Moot Court Honor Society, and awarded scholarships for both of his graduate programs. He graduated with honors from all academic institutions. Jeremy is licensed to practice law in Florida state and federal courts and is certified under Article 27, UCMJ.
Roy R. Harris, Jr.
Co-Founder & Partner
Roy is a long-tenured general counsel and strategic business advisor with decades of experience helping companies build scalable legal, regulatory, compliance, and operational frameworks. Roy served as General Counsel at MDVIP for more than 18½ years and was one of its first 10 employees. He supported four CEOs, multiple management teams and Boards of Directors, served as Corporate Secretary, and helped build MDVIP’s legal and regulatory framework, compliance program, membership structure, and business operations from the ground up.
During his tenure, MDVIP grew from less than 10 affiliated physicians and 500 members to nearly 1,200 affiliated physicians serving more than 400,000 members. Roy was credited by MDVIP’s leadership and investors as a material contributor to the company’s success and industry leadership in membership medicine. He also guided the company
through five private equity transactions involving Procter & Gamble, Summit Partners, Leonard Green & Partners, Goldman Sachs, and Charlesbank. Roy established MDVIP’s government relations program, regularly advocating in Washington, D.C. for the organization and primary care.
More recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer for one of the country’s most prestigious jury consulting firms located in NYC, helping build its legal operations function and streamline company processes. Earlier in his career, Roy practiced as an attorney at healthcare specialty firm, Broad & Cassel (now part of Nelson Mullins). Roy earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and a JD from NSU Shepard Broad College of Law. He received a full scholarship to law school and was a member of Law Review. While Roy has deep healthcare experience, his judgment, business acumen, and operational insight translate across all industries. Roy is licensed to practice law in Florida state and federal courts.
